Makaha Shores fronts on uncrowded Makaha Beach, famous the world over for surfing and scuba diving. The beach is great for swimming and sunning too. The angle of the reef naturally divides the area into two distinct parts — one great for surfing and boogie boarding and one calm enough for gentle snorkeling.
Two championship golf courses are only a mile away, and public tennis courts are nearby. There are ancient heiau (Hawaiian temples) to explore and stars to gaze at night. This is a decidedly “untouristy” area, but there’s still plenty to see and do and enjoy while vacationing at relaxing Makaha Shores.

This updated apartment has a complete kitchen with built-in microwave oven, 4‑burner stove with conventional oven and many small appliances including toaster, coffee maker and rice cooker.
Although the Waianae Coast does not offer a very wide variety of restaurants, there are several in each category from which to choose. Personally, however, we prefer to get some fresh fish from one of the local markets and either barbecue it near the swimming pool or microwave it in our apartment.
Comfortable Living Area
The living area will comfortably accommodate 3 adults. There is ample storage space for luggage, groceries, beach mats and souvenirs. Ocean breezes and a ceiling fan keep you comfortably cool.
With your own kitchen, reserved parking, plenty of reading material and even a mailbox key, Makaha Shores becomes your home for however long you stay.

The studio apartment is carefully planned to provide you with maximum space to enjoy the amazing setting, no matter what the weather.
There’s a queen size wall bed and a long, comfortable sofa that provides an additional sleeping option.We can also provide a futon if you prefer. There are plenty of sheets, towels, kitchen utensils and books.
Swimming Pool Area
Amidst lovely landscaping, you can relax beside our swimming pool with the life-like tile dolphins. Nearby is a plumeria-shaded barbecue and picnic area. Of course the beautiful Pacific Ocean with pods of whales passing during the winter months is just steps away.
The ocean, beach and Waianae Mountains provide an ever-changing panorama, which you can enjoy from many perspectives.
Monk Seal Visits Makaha Shores
This rare monk seal came ashore at Makaha Shores on March 5, 2007. This has occurred as often as once or twice annually. This is the first time that we have been able to photograph it in motion.
